Swingin’ Seniors Throw 30th Anniversary Bash

Pasadena, Texas – The Swingin’ Seniors square-dance group will celebrate their 30th anniversary with a party at the Madison Jobe Senior Center (1700 East Thomas, Pasadena, TX 77506) on Tuesday, September 11 from 10 a.m. – noon.

This milestone event also marks the 100th birthday celebration of an original Swingin’ Senior member, Jake Barkins. Refreshments will be provided, but don’t forget to bring your dancing shoes!

Event Details: The Swinging Seniors square-dancing group was formed 30 years ago and holds the title of Houston’s oldest daytime dance group. Barker is an original member of this team, and he is still dancing at the age of 100 years young. This shindig is totally free, so come on in and shake a leg with a living legend.

Our Organization: The Madison Jobe Senior Center provides year-round recreational, fitness and educational opportunities to adults 50 years of age. Our mission is to encourage independence and community involvement and enhance the quality of life for senior citizens. Seniors are invited to enjoy the billiards room, computer lab, games, puzzles, dancing, educational/instructional classes, special events, or to just stop by and socialize with friends.
