GHF’S FOURTH ANNUAL GALVESTON REVIVAL RACE
PRESENTED BY MOSTYN LAW FIRM, SEPTEMBER 15, 2012

Galveston Island, Texas – Galveston Historical Foundation announces the Fourth Annual Galveston Revival Race, presented by Mostyn Law Firm, scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2012. The 2012 5K & 10K and Children’s 1K route will feature Galveston's East End Historical District and will conclude with a family-friendly celebration in Saengerfest Park with live entertainment, food and drink. Pricing is $35 for the 5K, $45 for the 10K and $25 for the 1K and can be purchased online at www.galvestonhistory.org/revival. As an added registration incentive, each registrant will also receive a free ticket to the 39th Annual Dickens on the Strand festival.

“This USATF certified route will once again highlight the island’s beloved tree sculptures, carved from century old trees destroyed by Hurricane Ike, along with monuments and one of a kind architecture.” says Clay Wade, Galveston Historical Foundation Director of Events. “Beginning and ending at the Mardi Gras arch, this year’s race will feature new race management and a fun-filled party following the race at Saengerfest Park with entertainment, food and drink for the entire family.”

The Mostyn Law Firm is once again partnering with GHF to sponsor the race. “Galveston Island has been part of my family for as long as I can remember,” says Steve Mostyn, the firm’s founder. “Every summer we vacationed here, creating the best memories of my life. Now, we own a condo here where we bring our kids almost every weekend. I am happy to give back to Galveston by supporting Galveston Historical Foundation and the restoration of Galveston Island."

The law firm, with offices in Houston, Beaumont, Austin and Galveston, specializes in insurance and personal injury claims as well as complex business litigation. All proceeds from the Mostyn Law Firm Galveston Revival Race go towards supporting GHF and its mission of preservation, community redevelopment, stewardship of historic properties and public education.
