Kemah City Council on Thursday voted unanimously to ratify the Kemah Community Development Corporation's approval of a $428,318 contract with RW Lucas, LLC for rehabilitation of Texas Avenue.

The city council tabled action regarding ratification of KCDC's approval of funding repairs for a water tower.

The city council voted unanimously to appoint Jack Ewing as an associate municipal court judge.

The city council voted unanimously to approve a special event request for the National Multiple Schleroris Society MS Walk. The event will take place on November 17.

During the meeting, the city council held public hearings regarding the FY2013 Budget and the proposed property tax rate for 2012.

No members of the public offered comments during the hearing.

The city council has proposed a tax rate of $0.295831 per $100 valuation, which is the city's rollback rate. A lower rate than the proposed rate can be adopted by council.
