Fort Bend County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to adopt the county’s FY2013 Budget.
The commissioners court voted 2-3, with only Grady Prestage and Richard Morrison voting in favor of approval, to deny a motion to amend the budget for a requested salary increase for the district attorney.
A motion was made to amend the budget to include a salary increase for the county attorney, but that motion was withdrawn. Proposed Budget
The commissioners court voted unanimously to adopt a property tax rate of $0.48076 per $100 valuation for 2012.
The total county tax rate is less than the 2011 rate of $0.48096 per $100 valuation, and designates $0.37776 per $100 valuation for expenditures under the county’s General Fund. A total of $0.028 per $100 valuation in revenues will be designated for expenditures under the Road and Bridge Fund, and $0.075 per $100 valuation will be used for payments on the county’s bonded indebtedness.
The county also approved a $0.019 per $100 valuation tax rate for the Fort Bend County Drainage District, bringing the combined rated to $0.49976, the same rate the county has adopted since 2008.
The commissioners court voted 4-1, with Andy Meyers opposed, to approve the purchase of four Chevrolet Caprice model vehicles from Classic Chevrolet for a price of $23,987 per vehicle.
