Patterson, who announced his candidacy for Lieutenant Governor in 2014 when David Dewhurst was the front runner in the Republican Primary for United States Senate, said he remains in the race following Dewhurst’s loss in that election.

“I can’t speak for other folks, but I’m running for lieutenant governor,” Patterson said.  “Whether David decides to remain and run again or do something else I think is still up in the air.”
