Bayou Vista City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to adopt the city’s FY2013 Budget, with revenues matching projected expenditures of $769,064.

The proposed budget included approximately $6,000 in revenues above expenditures, and was revised prior to adoption to divide the excess revenues for placement in the road repair and contingency funds.  Adopted Budget

The city council voted to adopt a property tax rate of $0.374455 per $100 valuation for 2012.  The 2011 tax rate totaled $0.376833 per $100 valuation. 

The city council voted to adopt a zero tax rate for the city’s debt service fund.  The city currently carries no bonded indebtedness that would be paid from the fund.

The city council voted to cast the city’s ballot for Deer Park City Manager Jay Stokes in the Texas Municipal League Employee Benefits Pool Board of Trustees election.

The city council voted to approve a contract with the Texas General Land Office for the receipt of $805,119 in Community Development Block Grant funds through the Hurricane Ike Disaster Recovery Program.
