2nd Annual Miles for the Mainland Fun Run
TEXAS CITY -- United Way Galveston County Mainland is going all out for their Second Annual Miles for the Mainland Fun Run to raise money for 31 vital human service organizations in Galveston County. The scenic course will take you through Bay Street Park and along Sky Line Road for a breathtaking sunrise view. Miles for the Mainland 5K and 10K will be chip-timed for those competitive running enthusiasts out there.
To make this fun for the whole family, UWGCM is spicing things up a little bit. Kids 10 & Under (and kids at heart) are encouraged to wear a costume for the Kids 1K Monster Mash Dash at 7:30 a.m. There will also be face painting, a moon walk, food and vendors to make this morning event enjoyable for all ages and abilities. Emcee Sarah Pepper from the Hot Show on 95.7 will be coming back this year, but she’s bringing a team of runners with her this time.
The first 400 participants who register and pay will receive t-shirts and other goodies in their Race Packets. Packet pick-up will be October 15-19 at the UWGCM office located at 922 14th St. N in Texas City.
