18th ANNUAL UTMB SCHOOL OF NURSING “SALUTE TO NURSING” GOLF TOURNAMENT
SET FOR OCTOBER 12th AT GALVESTON COUNTRY CLUB
GALVESTON ISLAND, TEXAS - The18th Annual UTMB School of Nursing “Salute to Nursing “ Golf Tournament is set for Friday, October 12, 2012 at the Galveston Country Club, beginning with a shotgun start at noon.
The Salute to Nursing Scholars Program was recently created by the School’s Advisory Council, with funds from the Golf Tournament dedicated to support Salute to Nursing Scholars. Annually, Scholars are competitively selected from the corps of graduate students in either the Nursing PhD or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program. Each Salute to Nursing Scholar receives a $15,000 award to be used toward meeting the expenses of doctoral education. These generous awards facilitate the educational process for the School’s most outstanding doctoral students. As doctoral program graduates, these individuals generally become faculty members, thereby addressing the alarming nursing faculty shortage in Texas.
This year’s sponsors for the “Hole in One” competition are Advantage BMW/Mini of Clear Lake, Lexus of Clear Lake, and Sterling McCall Collision Center of Clear Lake. And, if on the designated hole a player hits a “Hole in One”, he or she will have the opportunity to choose from the following prizes: 2012 BMW 328i, 2013 Lexus ES 350, or two 2012 Mini Cooper HT’s.
