La Marque ISD Board of Trustees

La Marque City Council on Thursday voted4-0-1, with Edward Jones abstaining, to hold a public meeting on September 25 to discuss the 2012 property tax rate.

The district is planning a tax ratification election to receive voter approval on an increase to a total tax rate of $1.35 per $100 valuation.

The rate would increase the district's maintenance and operations taxes to $1.15 from $1.04 per $100 valuation. The remaining $0.20 per $100 valuation would be designated for payments on the districts bond debt.

The school board voted renew a customer plan service agreement with Schneider Electric.

The school board took no action on any items from the executive session, which was not held. The items included personnel matters, the superintendent's contract, and consultation with the board's attorney.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. Trustees Joe Cantu and Annie Burton were absent.  Agenda
