Hitchcock City Commission

The Hitchcock City Commission on Monday voted unanimously to adopt a property tax rate of $0.396105 per $100 valuation for 2012.

The rate is equal to the city’s effective tax rate, which will provide revenues equal to the previous fiscal year.  The 2011 adopted tax rate for Hitchcock was $0.396461 per $100 valuation.

The city commission voted to approve the city’s FY2013 Budget.  The budget includes General Fund expenditures of $2,807,353, and Utility Fund expenditures of $2,103,000.  The city carries no debt service balance.

The city commission voted to adopt a resolution endorsing the Galveston County Commissioners Court’s appointees to the Galveston County United Board of Health.

The appointments include John Konikowski, Steven Leach, Bernard Milstein, Michael Ehart, Keith Casey and Scott Johnson.

The city commission voted to proclaim September 21 as MIA/POW Day in the City of Hitchcock.

All items were approved.  All votes were unanimous with Commissioner Frank Lopez absent.  Agenda
