ISGH Comment on City Hall Protest

As the Muslim world reacts to the controversial film depicting our beloved Prophet Muhammad, the Islamic Society of Greater Houston asks people of all faiths to respond using the prophetic tradition of Muhammad – with kindness, forgiveness and tolerance.

Right now, protests and violence serve to deepen the rift between our communities and are barriers to the reconciliation process.  The actions of a few extremists, regardless of color or creed, cannot be the voice that defines who we are.

We must honor the Prophet Muhammad with our conduct in society.  ISGH encourages members of all faiths to counter hate and promote peace through community service and positive action.

The Islamic Society of Greater Houston has been serving the needs of the Houston community since 1969. We provide daily Muslim prayer services, Islamic education, community medical care, alms, and funeral services at 19 locations across Greater Houston.
