In Case You Missed It: Texas has Largest Increase in Employment of All States Last Month

Austin, Texas - According to data released today by the U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS), Texas saw the largest increase in employment of any state over the last month, with 38,000 jobs added in the Lone Star State. From August 2011 to August 2012, Texas added 259,500 jobs.

"Employers know that Texas continues to be a beacon for job creation in the U.S. thanks to the conservative fiscal policies that have helped strengthen our economy, like our low taxes, reasonable and predictable regulations, and fair courts, and the steps we've taken to promote a skilled workforce," Gov. Perry said. "We will continue to focus on these principles to keep this momentum moving forward and keep our economy a national example for competitiveness and job growth."
