Jack Brooks Regional Airport
by Jim Guidry
Sunday, September 23, 2012

Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce President Jim Rich on Friday told Guidry News Service that he believes that enough funds have been committed to attract an American Airlines commuter service to connect Jack Brooks Regional Airport with Dallas-Forth International Airport.  Listen

“We are very close to having the funds raised to negotiate an agreement with American Airlines to begin flights out of Jack Brooks Airport,” Rich said, noting that.  “We’ve worked very hard for two weeks and expect it to be at about $1.2 million on Monday.”

American Airlines had said previously that will need a revenue guarantee of $1.5 million to $2 million before it begins scheduling flights and selling tickets with service to begin by mid-February.
