Santa Fe City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to adopt a $4,567,560 budget for FY2013.
The budget will draw $295,645 from the city's reserve balance to fully fund the budget.
The city council voted unanimously to adopt a 2012 property tax rate of $0.3147 per $100 valuation. The tax rate is equal to the city's 2012 effective tax rate, meaning revenues drawn from existing property in Santa Fe will be equal to the previous fiscal year. The 2011 tax rate for Santa Fe was $0.3114 per $100 valuation.
The city council took no action regarding ratification of a property tax revenue increase in the FY2013 Budget. The action was not required as the city council did not adopt a tax rate exceeding the effective rate, which would have drawn increased revenues.
The city council voted unanimously to award bids for diesel fuel and street materials for FY2013.
The city will utilize contracts through Galveston County for a majority of materials. A bid was awarded to Martin Asphalt Company for emulsion, and to Oil Patch-Brazos Valley, Inc. for diesel fuel and motor oil.
No other items were on the agenda. Mayor Ralph Stenzel was absent. Mayor Pro Tem Pat McCrary presided over the meeting. Agenda
