Fort Bend County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to authorize the issuance of NRG Industrial Development Bonds by the Fort Bend County Industrial Development Corporation.
The corporation will issue $73,181,000 in bonds, which are qualified Hurricane Ike Disaster Area Bonds, to provide a loan for NRG to finance improvements to the WA Parish Power Plant located at 2500 Y U Jones Road in Thompsons, Texas.
The commissioners court voted to accept the resignation of Ron McCann from the Fort Bend County Levee Improvement District No. 11 Board of Directors and to appoint Stuart Rimes to fill the remainder of the term.
The commissioners court voted to adopt a resolution in support of designating Historic Downtown Rosenberg as a Cultural Destination.
The commissioners court voted to ratify the submission of grant applications to the Houston-Galveston Area Council requesting federal funding for the continuation of the Job Access and Reserve Commute, as well as the New Freedom transportation programs.
The commissioners court voted to award a $4,064,840 bid to Allgood Construction Company, Inc. for the construction of Falcon Landing Boulevard from Spring Green to Gaston Road, Gaston Road from Falcon Landing Boulevard for a length of 3,600 feet, and Greenbusch from Gaston Road for a length of 3,100 feet.
The project is part of the county’s mobility bond program.
