Galveston County
Texas City City Commission
by Garrett Bryce
Thursday, October 04, 2012

The Texas City City Commission on Wednesday voted unanimously to amend the city's FY2013 Budget to appropriate funds for implementation of an in-pipe system to remedy maintenance and odor issues at the city's lift stations.

The amendment will transfer $170,400 from retained earnings in the city's Sewer Revenue Fund into a maintenance account for the lift stations.

The commission voted to correct an error in appointments two the city's boards and commissions. The change reflects that Phil Roberts has been appointed to the city's Planning Board, while Harold Fattig was appointed to the Texas City Economic Development Corporation Board. The positions were inadvertently reversed.

The city commission voted to approve the purchase of a Caterpillar D6N LGP Track Type Tractor.

The cost of the tractor is $222,430, and will be purchased from Mustang Cat in Houston through a contract with the Houston-Galveston Area Council. The city will trade-in a tractor it currently owns for a total of $33,000, bringing the cost of the purchase to $189,430.

All items were approved. All votes were unanimous with all members present. Agenda
