El Lago City Council on Wednesday voted unanimously to appoint Robert O'Donel to the Lakeview Police Department Commission.

Mayor Brad Emel administered O'Donel's oath of office.

The city council took no action regarding an increase in fines at the city's municipal court. The levels of fines are the responsibility of the Municipal Court Judge.

The city council tabled action regarding an amendment to the city's FY2012 Budget.

The city council tabled action regarding the Fourth Quarter Investment Report.

The city council tabled action regarding the minutes of the August 8 city council meeting.

The city council discussed, but took no action regarding the proposed FY2013 Budget.

Prior to the meeting, the city council held a public hearing regarding a proposed increase to the city's property tax rate for 2012.

The city is proposing an increase from $0.49584 per $100 valuation to $0.52088 per $100 valuation for the city's maintenance and operations tax rate. When combined with the debt service tax rate of $0.09242 per $100 valuation the city would have a total tax rate of $0.6133.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
