Texas Governor Rick Perry has made appointments to the Lavaca-Navidad River Authority Board of Directors, the Texas Board of Nursing, and the Texas Medical Board District Four Review Committee.
Governor Perry appointed Glenn T. Martin of Edna to the Lavaca-Navidad River Authority Board of Directors for a term to expire May 1, 2013. The board oversees the storage, preservation and distribution of stream and river water in Jackson County.

Governor Perry appointed Shelby Ellzey of Midlothian to the Texas Board of Nursing for a term to expire Jan. 31, 2015. The board ensures that licensed nurses in Texas meet the necessary requirements to practice, and oversees accreditation of schools of nursing.

Governor Perry appointed James H. Dickerson, Jr. of New Braunfels and Phil Worley of Hebbronville to the Texas Medical Board District Four Review Committee. Committee members evaluate medical practice and professional competency, and make recommendations on investigations conducted by the board.
