Shoreacres City Council on Monday voted unanimously to adopt a property tax rate of $0.844381 per $100 valuation for 2012.

The rate is equal to the effective tax rate for 2012.

The city council voted to adopt the FY2013 Budget.  The budget includes $1,759,456 in projected General Fund revenues, including a $285,304 contribution from the General Fund reserve, and a $126,974 from the Utility Fund.

Expenditures are equal to projected revenues budgeted for FY2013.  Utility Fund revenues and expenditures are budgeted at $917,508.  Budget

The city council voted to adopt a three-year agreement with the Economic Alliance Houston Port Region for services related to the promotion of economic development of the city.

The city council voted to accept a proposal from Patillo, Brown & Hill for auditing services to performe a financial audit of the city’s General Fund for FY2012.

The city council voted to extend a temporary housing permit for 1009 West Forest until December 31.  The permit was provided while the residence at that address is being repaired due to damages caused during Hurricane Ike.

All items were approved.  All votes were unanimous with all members present.  Agenda

During the meeting, Council Member Connie Ramirez addressed the city council regarding concerns with her residency status and eligibility to hold office in Shoreacres.  No action was taken on the item.  The city’s attorney had found no issues with Ramirez continuing to serve on city council.
