HUTCHISON TO DELIVER LAST STATE OF THE SENATE ADDRESS

LOCAL BUSINESS ORGANIZATION TO HONOR OUTGOING SENATOR
HOUSTON – After faithfully serving the state of Texas in the United States Senate for more than 19 years, our state’s senior Senator will be retiring. The Greater Houston Partnership will honor Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison for her service to the region before her State of the Senate address, in which she will discuss the current state of the Senate and share her insights into its future.
Sen. Hutchison was first elected to the Senate in a 1993 special election. She has since been reelected three more times and is still the state’s only female U.S. Senator in its history. She is the Ranking Member on the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation and the Appropriations Subcommittee for Commerce, Justice, and Science. She has been Chairman of the Military Construction Appropriations Sub-Committee and serves on the Defense Appropriations Sub-Committee.
