Galveston County Sheriff's Office
News Release
Friday, October 12, 2012

Three Galveston County Sheriff’s Office deputies have been cleared in a lawsuit filed against them by a local man with claims of excessive force and other Federal law violations.

Tuesday, U. S. District Judge Gregg Costa issued a summary judgment dismissing claims against Deputies Ross Strickland, Jeff Jackson, and Maj. Henry Trochesset. The now dismissed suit alleged the three deputies were involved in the use of excessive force and violation of Fourth and Fourteenth Amendment rights of Michael Aldous, the suit’s plaintiff. Summary Judgment

The suit stemmed from Aldous’ May 20, 2009 arrest on drug-related charges, which were also later dismissed. It is not known whether Aldous intends to appeal Judge Costa’s ruling.

A related suit against Galveston County, also filed by Aldous, was previously dismissed.
