The Galveston College Board of Regents on Thursday voted unanimously to approve a payment of $59,958 to Ramona Munsell & Associates Consulting, Inc. for technical assistance and grant writing services.
The firm had assisted in award of the 2012-2017 Title V Strengthening Hispanic Institutions Project. The firm's fee is equal to 10 percent of the annual award, with the first year's award equaling $631,149. The college received a five percent discount for paying the firm the full amount for the year.
The board voted unanimously to pay $82,033 to Ramona Munsell & Associates Consulting, Inc. for services associated with the 2011-2016 Title III Part F Hispanic-Serving Institutions – Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Grant Project.
The firm assisted the college in award of the grant. The second year award to the college through the grant totals $863,510.
The board voted 6-1, with Barbara Crews opposed, to authorize College President Dr. Myles Shelton to proceed with negotiations and purchase of real property as discussed during an executive session.
The president was provided with a price range for the purchase of the property.
The board voted unanimously to approve an extension and revision of a food service provider agreement with Brooks Catering. The agreement was revised to increase the daily rate paid to Brooks Catering from $11 to $12 for an athletic meal plan.
