MAJOR CLOSURES SCHEDULED THIS WEEKEND FOR IH 10 KATY AT SH 99
Crews will be Hanging Steel Girders for New Direct Connectors at the IH 10/ SH 99 Interchange

HOUSTON —Total closures of both the eastbound and westbound mainlanes of IH 10 Katy Freeway at SH 99 are scheduled to take place over the weekend. The closures are necessary for the roadway contractor to work on the IH 10/SH 99 interchanges.

IH 10 Katy Freeway eastbound and westbound mainlanes at SH 99 are scheduled to be totally closed beginning Friday, October 19 at 9 p.m. to Monday, October 22 at 5 a.m.

  • All IH 10 eastbound mainlane traffic will be detoured onto the IH 10 eastbound frontage roads at the exit ramp for SH 99 and will re-enter IH 10 eastbound mainlanes after the signal via the next entrance ramp.

  • All IH 10 westbound mainlane traffic will be detoured onto the IH 10 westbound frontage roads at the exit ramp for SH 99 and will re-enter IH 10 westbound mainlanes after the signal via the next entrance ramp.

 

Further, the Mason Road eastbound entrance ramp to IH 10 and the Mason Road eastbound exit ramp will be closed from Friday, October 19 at noon to Monday, October 22 at 5 a.m. The Mason Road westbound entrance ramp to IH 10 will be closed from Friday, October 19 at 9 p.m. to Monday, October 22 at 5 a.m.

Motorists should expect delays and should consider an alternate route if possible. Police officers will be on site to assist with traffic control.

Crews are continuing construction of the $30 million project to construct the SH 99 southbound connector to IH 10 eastbound and IH 10 westbound to SH 99 northbound connector. This project is slated for completion by the fall of 2013.
