Gov. Perry Reappoints Three to Commission on Uniform State Laws

Austin, Texas - Gov. Rick Perry has reappointed three members to the Commission on Uniform State Laws for terms to expire Sept. 30, 2018. The commission participates in the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws to study and recommend which areas of law should be consistent across all 50 states.

Marilyn E. Phelan of Granbury is a professor of law emeritus at the Texas Tech University School of Law. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, American Law Institute, American and Texas Bar associations, Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and International Council of Museums. She is also a past board member of West Texas Legal Services. Phelan received a bachelor's degree, a Master of Business Administration and doctorate of accounting from Texas Tech University, and a law degree from the University of Texas at Austin.

Harry L. Tindall of Houston is an attorney and shareholder at Tindall and England P.C. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Houston Bar Association and American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and a member and past president of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists and Gulf Coast Family Law Specialists. He is also a board member of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, member and past board member of the Collaborative Law Institute of Texas, and a past member of the U.S. Commission on Interstate Child Support and Texas Supreme Court Advisory Committee. Tindall served in the U.S. Navy Reserve. He received a bachelor's degree and law degree from the University of Texas.

Earl "Lee" Yeakel III of Austin is a U.S. District Court Judge for the Western District of Texas. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, American Bar Association, American Bar Foundation, American Law Institute and American Judicature Society, and a sustaining life fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. He is also an executive committee member and trustee of the Theodore Roosevelt Association, a member and past president of the Rotary Club of Austin, and a past board member of the Travis County Bar Association. Yeakel served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He received a bachelor's degree and law degree from the University of Texas, and a Master of Laws in Judicial Process from the University of Virginia.

Gov. Perry Appoints Haun to State Committee of Examiners in the Fitting and Dispensing of Hearing Instruments

Austin, Texas - Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Gary Haun of San Angelo to the State Committee of Examiners in the Fitting and Dispensing of Hearing Instruments for a term to expire Dec. 31, 2015. The committee licenses and regulates fitters and dispensers of hearing instruments in Texas.

Haun is a certified audioprosthologist and owner of Bryant Concho Valley Hearing Services. He is a member of the Texas Hearing Aid Association, International Hearing Society, San Angelo Chamber of Commerce, and San Angelo Better Business Bureau. He is also a member and past president of the San Angelo West Rotary Club.
