Gov. Perry: Fort Hood Shooting Was Act of Terror

Austin, Texas - Gov. Rick Perry released the following statement regarding the efforts by the Fort Hood shooting victims to have this act of senseless violence re-classified as an act of terror:

"The brave soldiers and civilians killed and wounded during the clear commission of an act of terror should be afforded the same benefits and honors as those who are killed or wounded on the field of battle. It is senseless for President Obama to deny these heroes and their families all of the benefits and honors they are due.

"President Obama's refusal to call it an act of terror is a shining example of this administration's devotion to political correctness over the defense of our men and women in uniform."
