Galveston County
Galveston County Commissioners Court
by Jim Guidry
Monday, October 22, 2012

Galveston County Commissioners Court in a special meeting today voted 3-2, with County Judge Mark Henry and Commissioner Ken Clark opposed, to move forward with the Bolivar Peninsula Waste Water Project; and then voted 2-3, with only Henry and Clark in favor, to defeat a motion to remove the Bolivar Wastewater CDBG Round 1 Project and replace it with an eligible alternate project to be determined by the county judge.

The issues related to the Bolivar Peninsula had been discussed extensively in workshop last week.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve a request for reorganization of the District Attorney’s Office.  Document

“The office is experiencing a reorganization in the sense that a number of individuals are being promoted simultaneously to fill vacated positions,” explained District Attorney Jack Roady.

The commissioners court deferred action on adoption of changes in the county’s travel policy.

All other agenda items were approved unanimously, with all members present. Agenda
