Shoreacres City Council
by Garrett Bryce
Tuesday, October 23, 2012

Shoreacres City Council on Monday received an update regarding the status of the city’s application for participation in the National Flood Insurance Program’s Community Rating System.

While Shoreacres does participate in the flood insurance program to receive insurance, the city is not in the program’s community rating system, which assigns a rating and provides discounts on flood insurance. The city has prepared an application to file for participation in the rating program.  The city had initiated an application previously, but needed a mitigation action plan prior to applying, according to City Administrator David Stall.

“We’re hoping in 2013 to be able to get a rating and start getting a discount for folks in Shoreacres,” Stall said.

The city council voted unanimously to approve payment of the city’s invoices.

The city council voted unanimously to approve the minutes of the September 10 city council meeting.

No other action items were on the agenda.  Mayor Dolly Arons was absent.  Mayor Pro Tem Richard Adams presided over the meeting.  Agenda
