City of Morgan's Point
News Release
Tuesday, October 23, 2012

On Monday October 22, Morgan’s Point City Council recognized residents Ed Bluestein and Paul Francis, for their efforts in working with the Port of Houston Authority to amend the Bayport terminal dredging permit with the Army Corps of Engineers.

The permit would have allowed the use of spoils to create new marsh lands that could threaten recreational activities on Galveston Bay and potentially create additional erosion of shoreline from Shoreacres to Morgan’s Point. The Port of Houston Authority is now exploring less evasive options for disposal of spoils.
