Funeral arrangements are pending for Hitchcock Independent School District Trustee Estelle Holmes who died in a fire at her home on Monday.  Investigators confirmed Holmes’ identity based on dental records.

Holmes, who was a longtime activist in the Democratic Party, also was a member of the board of directors of the Houston-Galveston Area Council.
