Pasadena City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to approve, on first reading, an ordinance annexing land located in the vicinity of Fairmont Parkway and east of the Pasadena Convention Center and Fairgrounds, and the area in the vicinity of Bay Area Boulevard and the northeast corner of the boundary of the city.
The city council voted unanimously to partially rescind an industrial district agreement with Lyondell Chemical Company for land in the Pasadena Industrial District.
The city council deferred action on the first reading of a contract with Berg Oliver Associates, Inc. for environmental review services in connection with the Hurricane Ike Disaster Recovery Program, Round 2.2.
The city council voted unanimously to approve, on final reading, the execution of a $318,040 grant contract with the Texas Department of Public Safety, Division of Emergency Management for the 2012 Urban Area Security Initiative, Homeland Security Grant Program. The funds will be administered by the Emergency Management Department.
The city council voted unanimously to authorize Mayor Johnny Isbell to execute the Community Rating System Annual Recertification document.
The city council voted unanimously to appoint Rusty Hellyer to the Suspension Appeals Board.

During the meeting, the city presented service awards to Assistant Police Chief Bud Corbett for 40 years with the Pasadena Police Department, and Tim Ryan for 30 years with the Fleet Department. Eddie Rogge, who received a service award for 35 years with the police department, was unable to attend.
