The College of the Mainland Board of Trustees, in a special meeting today, named Dr. Beth Lewis, vice president of academic affairs at Northeast Lakeview College in Universal City, Texas, as the sole finalist for the college's next president.

A 21-day waiting period is required before a contract with Lewis can be executed and she can start in the college's top staff position.  News Release

Lewis was one of three finalists interviewed by the board this week. Also in the running were Dr. Dale Doty, vice president for academic affairs at Florence-Darlington Technical College in Florence, South Carolina, and Dr. Ralph Ford, vice president of student services at Union County College in Cranford, New Jersey.

COM Vice President of Instruction Dr. Amy Locklear is currently serving as acting president. The board named Locklear as acting president on Monday to lead the college following the departure of Interim President Dr. Larry Durrence, who completed his contract with the college.
