BERNINA INTERNATIONAL OWNER TO VISIT INTERNATIONAL QUILT FESTIVAL
IN HOUSTON ON NOVEMBER 2
Mr. Ueltschi will be available at BERNINA booth #1744 for a meet-and-greet from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
AURORA, Ill. – BERNINA of America, the premier manufacturer of sewing, embroidery and quilting machines, is pleased to announce that Hanspeter Ueltschi, fourth generation owner of BERNINA International, will visit the International Quilt Festival in Houston on Friday, November 2. Mr. Ueltschi will be available for a meet-and-greet at BERNINA booth #1744 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Central. BERNINA also will showcase its new and revolutionary 7 Series line of sewing, embroidery and quilting machines and DesignWorks Software Suite at its booth. The Houston Quilt Festival is being held at the George R. Brown Convention Center, located at 1001 Avenida De Las Americas, from Thursday, November 1 through Sunday, November 4.
BERNINA’s new 7 Series line of machines – the B 780 E (Embroidery), B 750 QE (Quilter’s Edition) and B 710 – feature the world’s first, patent-pending BERNINA 9 Hook (B 9 Hook) that uniquely combines the advantages of the two best hook technologies: the rotary and CB hook. This hook system enables higher sewing and embroidery speeds, up to 9 mm stitch width and 80 percent more bobbin capacity than BERNINA’s standard bobbins. The 7 Series also includes an extended freearm area with 10 inches of space to the right of the needle and a practical extension table with ample space to hold your larger sewing projects.
BERNINA’s DesignWorks Software Suite features three exciting components that turn select BERNINA embroidery machines into mixed-media tools:
- CutWork cuts shapes, patterns and designs from multiple layers of fabric
- PaintWork applies pen drawings to fabric and textiles
- CrystalWork creates crystal appliqué patterns for textiles and garments
The Houston Quilt Festival will feature over 500 vendors and several instructors from around the country who will lead more than 365 beginner to advanced-level classes on many quilting-related topics. Some classes will feature BERNINA machines for participants to use. Attendees can register on-site for classes beginning Sunday, October 28. Additionally, International Quilt Association members and those registered for classes at the festival can enjoy the “Preview Night” event on Wednesday, October 31 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., which will feature a sneak-peak of special exhibits and shopping at the vendor mall.
