Port Arthur City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to amend a contract with Tender Loving Care Center for Children, doing business as Legacy Community Development Corporation, for the allocation of $265,000 for the purchase, rehabilitation and sale of three homes to low and moderate income families.
The contract was extended for six months, and will now expire on December 20, 2013.
The city council voted unanimously to table action regarding a 12 month professional services agreement with John Hall Public Affairs for continued work on the city's Environmental Justice Plan and other environmental and housing projects.
The contract is not to exceed $72,000, with travel expenses not to exceed $24,000.
The city council voted unanimously approve the purchase of a vacuum truck from Freightliner of Austin for a total of $249,904.
The city council voted unanimously to approve a contract, not to exceed $750,000 per year, with Redwine Enterprises, Inc. for soil materials. The contract is for one year with an option to renew for an additional two years.
The city council voted unanimously to approve a $6,835 contract with The Labiche Architectural Group, Inc. for additional services provided to the Downtown Renaissance District Board.
The city council voted unanimously to adopt a resolution congratulating the Texas Recreation and Parks Society on its 75th birthday.
All other items were approved by unanimous vote. Council Member Robert Williamson was absent.
