The League of Women Voters of the Houston Area honors Alice May and Don Berthelson
Longtime community leaders feted at luncheon
Mayor Parker will present special proclamation

Thursday; December 20, 2012                 11:30 am                The Briar Club – 2603 Timmons

Alice May and Don arrived in Houston in 1957 and immediately took up the banner of good citizenship: the perfect power couple for a surging city on its way to becoming an urban powerhouse. Alice May and Don built an insurance business, raised a family, and worked effectively as community volunteers. Alice May has served as president of both the Citizens Environmental Coalition and the Volunteer Center and three terms as President of the League of Women Voters .  She has been a leader at the YWCA, United Nations Association, Houston Planning Commission and the Harris County Task Force on Flood Control.

It is our pleasure and our duty to celebrate Alice May and Don’s long service to this community.  They continue to live the faith of vibrant citizenship, a tradition that Americans so dearly cherish.
