Postponed Ball High boys basketball game rescheduled for 6 p.m. tonight
Last night’s game postponed due to referee no-show, team will take on Goose Creek tonight;
Tors named Chevy team of the week
GALVESTON, Texas – The postponed 24-4A game between Ball High and Goose Creek Memorial will tip-off tonight at 6 p.m. at Ball High Gymnasium (5114 Ave. O). The game, originally scheduled for Tuesday night, was postponed due to referees not showing up for the contest. The freshman and junior varsity teams successfully completed their games.
“The UIL Houston Chapter sincerely extends its apology for last night’s episode,” said James Batiste, President of the UIL Houston Chapter of Basketball Officials in a statement to coaches. “This falls squarely on the shoulder of us as a chapter. We failed to live up to our end of the unwritten agreement. Coach [Jerald] Temple and Coach [Duane] Fikac, you have our deepest apology.”
