Lois “Nita” Bluitt
Fields Johnson Family Mortuary

Lois “Nita” BluittLois “Nita” Bluitt, 68, received her reward of eternal rest on Tuesday June 4, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Lois was born in Silsbee, TX to the late Robert and Mary Lee Holden. She graduated from Waldo Matthew High School in Silsbee in 1962. She later attended Prairie View A. & M. University where she received her B.S. degree in Elementary and Special Education. Lois was a retired educator with G.I.S.D. with over 35 years of service. Lois was a faithful member of Avenue L Baptist Church for over 37 years. She serve on the Usher board, with the Culinary committee and Youth Dept.. She also was a member of Beta Phi Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.

She leaves precious memories  with her two sons, Bart Bluitt (Tilly), and Dudley Bluitt; brother, Richard Holden (Deryl); devoted sister, Karen Jones; grandchildren, Lisa Bluitt , Priest Bluitt, Peyton Bluitt, and Xander Bluitt-Lee; aunts, Theresa Powell and Naomi Cross; host of nieces nephews other relatives and friends.

Lois will lie in state on today, June 7th from 2-5 PM at Fields Johnson Family Mortuary with a visitation to follow from 6-8PM at Avenue L Baptist Church.

A service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 11:00 also at Avenue L. with Pastor E. R. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Kirby Cemetery in Silsbee, TX.
