Galveston County SBDC and the Galveston, Friendswood, Santa Fe and Hitchcock
Chambers of Commerce Introduce New Courses for the New Year

GALVESTON, Texas – Bill Clement, Director of the Galveston County Small Business Development Center (Galveston County SBDC), the business advising and training center hosted by the Galveston County Economic Alliance Foundation, today announced a series of new classes that will be presented in collaboration with the Santa Fe, Galveston, Friendswood and Hitchcock Chambers of Commerce. A series of four classes will focus on branding for small businesses and individuals. This series, funded by a grant from BP, will be free to small business owners and entrepreneurs in Galveston County. Clement said, “Branding is the key to differentiating a small business from a competitor. Our goal is to provide class attendees with the tools and knowledge necessary to build a brand that will be recognized by customers and potential customers throughout Galveston County.” Individuals wanting to attend may register online at or by calling one of the Chambers of Commerce.

About the Galveston County SBDC
Galveston County Small Business Development Center (Galveston County SBDC) provides free business consulting and training to small and medium-sized business owners and managers at every stage of their business development. Assistance is customized to individual needs, including evaluating financing alternatives, developing a loan package, reviewing and updating business plans, or improving productivity and profitability. Galveston County SBDC is hosted by the Galveston County Economic Alliance Foundation, an EEO/AA institution.  

Galveston County SBDC is a business advising and training center of the University of Houston SBDC Network, which serves 32 counties in Southeast Texas through 15 centers. The UH SBDC Network is a program of the UH C.T. Bauer College of Business and a resource partner of the US Small Business Administration, funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration. SBDC programs are nondiscriminatory and available to individuals with disabilities.
