Galveston College Board of Regents
by Garrett Bryce
Thursday, October 08, 2015

The Galveston College Board of Regents on Wednesday voted unanimously to approve an addendum to an agreement with EduServe International Services for approximately $259,000.

The addendum extends the agreement, originally approved in 2010, an additional year beginning December 1. The contract includes programming, database administration, functional and report development assistance.

The board voted unanimously to appoint Dr. Gaynelle Hayes and Jeff Engbrock as investment officers for the college.

The board voted 6-0-1, with Tino Gonzalez abstaining, to adopt a corporation authorization resolution for the college's accounts at Moody National Bank. Gonzalez abstained due to his position at Moody National Bank.

The board met in executive session to discuss security at the campus. No action was taken as a result of the executive session.

All other action items were approved by unanimous vote. Regents George Black and Fred Raschke were absent. Agenda

During the meeting, Paulie Gaido gave a presentation on a fundraising proposal for the Galveston College Foundation. Gaido discussed “14 is the new 12”, a two-phased campaign, to raise funds to help the college not focus on only enrollment and graduation, but also placement for employment.

Gaido also said he planned to commit a gift as part of the program.
