Houston police are investigating several incidents that occurred during the holiday weekend, including Friday's fatal shooting at 6363 West Airport Boulevard.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 6363 West Airport Boulevard

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male at 6363 West Airport Boulevard about 4:40 p.m. last Friday (Jan. 15).

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Officers D. Williamson and A. Vinogradov reported:

The victim and unknown suspects got into an altercation in a parking lot of an apartment complex at the above address.  During the argument, the victim was shot at least one time.  Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.

Fatal Crash at 4100 North Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 4100 North Freeway about 8 p.m. last Friday (Jan. 15).

The identity of the two deceased male victims are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Kopulos and Officer C. Cisneros reported:

An 18-wheeler with mechanical problems was on the shoulder of the freeway at the above address when it was struck from behind by a white Chevrolet Silverado truck traveling northbound at a high rate of speed on the shoulder.  The driver and front seat passenger in the Silverado were pronounced dead at the scene.  A back seat passenger was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.  The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.  

A preliminary investigation indicated the driver of the Silverado was at fault.  The investigation is continuing.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 5203 Dumfries

The fatal shooting of a juvenile male at 5203 Dumfries about 1:05 p.m. on Saturday (Jan. 16) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury. 

The victim, 15, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants J. Burton and M. Brady reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at the above address and found the victim with a gunshot wound in a bedroom of the residence.  Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.  

The investigation revealed the victim and his stepbrother, 20, had gone to the residence after a gathering.  The stepbrother was showing the victim a semiautomatic pistol, which belonged to the stepbrother's father.  While in the course of showing the pistol to his younger stepbrother, the 20-year-old male accidently discharged the pistol, striking his stepbrother once in the torso.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 3398 Tampa Street

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 3398 Tampa Street about 4:15 p.m. on Monday (January 18).  

The victim, Gerrick Sylvester Duncan, 40, of Houston was pronounced dead at the scene.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Parker and Senior Police Officer R. Cervantes reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found HFD paramedics providing medical assistance to Mr. Duncan.  According to witnesses, a male suspect was seen walking from the location.  Further investigation determined Duncan was at a nearby food market (Dixie Food Mart) minutes earlier and may have been followed by the suspect.  

The suspect is described as a black male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds and wearing a red hoodie with dark pants/blue jeans.
