Dr. Jimmy Simmons to Address Greater Beaumont
Chamber of Commerce Member Luncheon
Beaumont, Texas - The Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce will host its member luncheon at the Compro Event Center on Thursday, February 23rd. Tickets are $25 for member and $30 for non-members. Registration opens at 11:30 AM with the program and lunch beginning at 12:00 PM.
The chamber’s member luncheon will focus on volunteerism as a topic, featuring Dr. Jimmy Simmons, a prominent member of the Southeast Texas community. From 1999 to 2013 Dr. Simmons served as the President of Lamar University. During his time as President, he oversaw numerous growth projects, helped Lamar recover from the disastrous hurricanes Rita and Ike, and saw Lamar University’s enrollment nearly double. After his time at Lamar, Dr. Simmons was appointed to the BISD Board of Trustees as Board President by the Texas Commissioner of Education, where he serves to this day.
Our focus at this lunch will be to recognize our Ambassadors, to present our Volunteer of the Year, and recognize long standing members of the Greater Beaumont Chamber of Commerce.
“This is an event we look forward to each year. It’s an opportunity to celebrate the chamber’s success with our volunteers, without whom success would be impossible. We have countless dedicated volunteers who are passionate about the Chamber’s mission. We look forward to highlighting their efforts.” says Regina Lindsey, Chamber President.
This lunch is presented by Altus Health/Altus Cancer Center as the Presenting Sponsor, Massage Envy as the Gold Sponsor, and Star Graphics, M&D Supply, and Parkdale Mall as the Silver Sponsors.
