The Houston-Galveston Area Council Board of Directors today voted unanimously to increase H-GAC Executive Director Jack Steele’s salary by approximately 2.5 percent, or $6,000 per year.

The board met in executive session prior to the vote to conduct the review of Steele's performance, which followed a recommendation from the Budget Finance Committee.

The board voted unanimously to approve the Gulf Coast Workforce Board Local Plan for submission to the Texas Workforce Commission.

“This plan is in a way a blueprint,” said H-GAC Director of Human Services Mike Temple. “It’s a framework that sets essentially the design and the direction for the region’s workforce system for the next 30 years.” Listen (2:54) Item Summary
