Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership Gulf Coast Big Brothers Big Sisters
Galveston County
Santa Fe City Council
by Garrett Bryce
Friday, May 19, 2017

Santa Fe City Council, in a special meeting on Thursday, voted unanimously to terminate the city's agreement with Sandersen & Scheffer, PLLC for conducting the city's audit for FY2016.

The item had been considered during the city council's regular meeting on May 11, but was tabled as a representative from the firm arrived with a draft audit. However, City Manager Joe Dickson noted there had been several issues.

“We don't have an audit,” Dickson said. “It was due on March 15, and we still don't have an audit.”

He also noted that there were issues with the draft audits that were presented to the city.

“It wasn't going anywhere,” he said.

The city council voted unanimously to approve an agreement with Carr Riggs & Ingram for audit services.

The firm will begin work on Monday, according to Dickson. The audit is required for completion in June.

No other action items were on the agenda. Council Member Charles Coleman was absent. Agenda
