Coast Guard searching for two people in the water

NEW ORLEANS – The Coast Guard is searching for two people in the water north of Mobile Bay, Alabama, Wednesday.

Coast Guard Sector Mobile received a report at 1:00 p.m. from a mariner who witnessed his 52-year-old male cousin and 82-year-old uncle fall overboard after their boat capsized due to the weather.

Involved in the search are:

  • Coast Guard Station Dauphin Island 29-foot Response Boat-Small boat crew

  • Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew

  • Mobile Police Department marine unit

  • 3 Daphne Search and Rescue vessels

  • 2 Mobile Sheriff Flotilla vessels

  • North Baldwin Sheriffs Search and Rescue
