Tropical Storm Bret Forms, Not a Threat to Texas

What is the danger?

Tropical Storm Bret has formed off the coast of Venezuela. It is the second named storm of the 2017 Atlantic hurricane season. Bret will pose no threat to the Texas Gulf Coast and is not the storm currently located in the Gulf of Mexico. That disturbance, if named, will become Tropical Storm Cindy.

What you need to do:

Harris County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management (HCOHSEM) urges residents to closely monitor these systems for the next several days. All residents of the Texas Gulf Coast should have a plan for tropical weather. Click here to get all-hazard preparedness information and sign up for alerts at www.readyharris.org.

HCOHSEM's ReadyHarris mobile app puts the power to build a personalized preparedness plan in the palm of your hand. The free app is available for both Apple and Android devices.
