Friendswood City Council on Monday voted unanimously to approve a settlement agreement with the law firm of Olson & Olson, LLP in the amount of $225,000, as discussed in closed session.

The city council voted unanimously to appoint Joe Matranga, Dick Clark and Eric Guenther and to reappoint Brett Banfield to the Planning and Zoning Commission, and to appoint Meg Crowley to the Community and Economic Development Committee.

The city council voted unanimously to elect Steve Rockey as mayor pro tem.

The city council voted 5-1, with John Scott opposed, to table action regarding the former Code of Ethics ordinance.

The city council took no action regarding the first reading of an ordinance amending the city's Code of Ordinances concerning dangerous animals by adding an appeal process and requirements for dangerous animal owners. The item died for lack of a motion.

The city council voted 5-1, with Rockey opposed, to authorize the final acceptance of the Howard Subdivision public utility improvements.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. Council Member Jim Hill was absent. Agenda
