Dickinson City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to award interim City Administrator Ray Morales a 20 percent pay increase.

Morales, who serves as chief of police, was named as interim city administrator following the departure of previous City Administrator Julie Robinson in June. Morales' previous base pay totaled $113,917 per year.

The item was discussed in closed session.

The city council voted unanimously to submit a grant application for the Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant Program through the United States Department of Justice.

The city council took no formal action, but directed staff to obtain quotes for a contractor to correct foundation problems at the Dickinson Public Library caused by plant roots.
