SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE THIS WEEKEND

The National Weather Service has begun issuing Severe Thunderstorm Warnings for portions of Houston this afternoon due to the presence dangerous thunderstorms in the area.  

Storms are forecasted to continue on-and-off throughout the weekend, and Residents should take steps to prepare, and be ready to seek shelter when severe weather occurs. 

The potential impacts from these storms are torrential rainfall, damaging wind, and hail.  

If a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING is issued for your area, seek shelter immediately in a sturdy structure, avoiding windows and doors, and wait for the storm to pass.  

If an FLASH FLOOD WARNING is issued for your area, move away from low-lying areas such as highway underpasses, bayous, streams and creeks. Remember, it only take a few inches of water to float a vehicle.  When you see water covering the road, Turn Around, Don't Drown®.
