by Garrett Bryce
Tuesday, July 18, 2017

The Hitchcock City Commission on Monday voted unanimously to approve three projects for submission to Galveston County for possible inclusion in the county's proposed bond referendum.

The projects include the Jay Road Outfall Drainage Project, the South Redfish Paving Project and the Neville Road Paving Project. Galveston County is considering calling for a bond referendum in November for various street and drainage projects.

The city commission voted to grant a request for preliminary and final plats for lots in the Harborwalk Subdivision.

The city commission voted to replace the city's previous ordinance to prohibit all tobacco or vapor products on any city property.

The city commission voted to designate Joe Wood as the city's Zoning Official.

Wood will also continue to perform his other current city hall duties on an as needed basis.

All items were approved. All votes were unanimous with all members present. Agenda
