Nature of Incident: Arrest – Stalking – Felony 3rd degree

Date of Incident: July 20, 2017

Dickinson Police Department arrested 57 year old Christopher Andrew Camp on a charge of stalking, a third degree felony, as well as two counts of criminal trespass, a class B misdemeanor.

Camp was charged with stalking after he continued to contact and harrass a female acquiantence over a period of two weeks, placing the victim in fear of her safety.  Dickinson Police recevied and investigated seven instances of Camp contacting the victim by text message and/or arriving at the victim’s residence, after being notified the contact was unwanted.   Camp also continued to contact the victim after having been served on July 10, with a temporary protective order issued out of Galveston County Court #2, prohibiting him from having any contact with the victim.

Camp had previously been arrested for burglary on June 27, after frocing his way into the victim’s residence and physically assaultling her.  Camp had been issued a notice to remain away from the residence at that time.  Camp was out of jail on a $25,000.00 bond related to the burglary when he was subsequently charged with stalking.  Detectives obtained a warrant for stalking on July 13, issued out of Galveston County JP #4.

Camp was located in Austin, Texas, on July 16, and held in the Travis County Jail until he was transferred earlier today, July 20, to Dickinson Jail.  Camp is currently in the Dickinson Jail awaiting transfer to the Galveston County Jail.   Camp’s bonds were set at $100,000.00 for the stalking and $1,500.00 each for the criminal trespass.  Total bond is $103,000.00.
