Santa Fe City Council on Thursday received a presentation on the city's proposed FY2018 Budget.
According to City Manager Joe Dickson, the proposed budget totals $5,178,784, with $265,674 in anticipated transfers from the fund balance to pay for expenditures. The budget is also based on the city's current property tax rate.
The proposed budget includes a 3 percent pay increase for staff, and 10 percent increases in costs for medical insurance. The city council will begin workshops on the budget on July 31, Dickson said.
A request for a zone change to rezone approximately 4.467 acres of land at 6700 FM 646 from Agricultural Residential to Highway Commercial died for lack of a second on the motion.
The item was effectively denied after several residents spoke against the zoning change, which would have allowed a Dollar General to open at the location.
The city council voted unanimously to reappoint Sue Johnson, Vicki Franzke, and Kim Holliday to the Library Advisory Board.
The city council voted unanimously to adopt a resolution reviewing and approving the Code of Conduct for public officials and employees.
All other items were approved by unanimous vote. Council members Charles Coleman and Bill Pittman were absent. Agenda
